Street Sweeping

Weekly Street Sweeping MapWest Covina Commences with Weekly Street Sweeping

The City of West Covina is proceeding with the City Council-approved initiative to increase street sweeping frequency to weekly.

During the transition from the previous schedule to the new policy, street sweepers may not yet operate within the posted timeframes, but this will be adjusted as signage installation nears completion in May.

Enforcement of the new parking restrictions is not yet in effect; once signs are fully installed and the schedule finalized, the City will initiate a warning period during which vehicles will receive notices in advance of formal enforcement.

Residents can find information regarding days and times that street sweeping will take place by viewing an interactive map on the "West Covina Resource Maps" section and selecting the "Weekly Street Sweeping Schedule Map" option.

Parking Enforcement

All parking citations have been temporarily suspended until further notice.

Sign InstallationSign Installation

The city is installing these signs based on the California Manual Uniform Traffic Control Devices for Street and Highways (CAMUTCD) and the California Vehicle Code (Sec. 22507.6). The installation of these signs follows the standard guidelines for pole placement. Additionally, Nationwide Environmental Services (NES) gave recommendations for a successful roll-out of this project based on their experience and expertise.

The purple line represents the boundary between city-owned property and privately owned residential property. The ROW can vary in width, typically ranging from 4 to 12 feet.

Parking Restriction on Sweeping Days

The City's weekly street sweeping program will include 4-hour parking restriction windows. In high-density residential streets, street sweeping will occur on alternating days of the street to accommodate parking needs.
